Most of the country wears out undercarriage on rock. Louisiana wears it out on water. An excavator building levee outside Baton Rouge is fighting saturated clay that won't hold weight. A dozer on pipeline right-of-way in the Atchafalaya is working in standing water half the year. A cane harvester in the river parishes is in a wet field on a deadline that doesn't move. Wide shoes, low ground pressure, and components that survive brackish water aren't upgrades in this market — they're the starting point.
Our Louisiana branch stocks the undercarriage, tracks, pads and ground engaging tools that hold up in that work. Industrial Tractor Parts has been supplying heavy equipment parts since 1956, and we run nine branches across the country — so the part you need is rarely more than a day away.
We're an independent aftermarket parts distributor, not a dealership. That means we're not limited to one equipment brand and we're not tied to one price book. We're one of the longest-tenured authorized Berco dealers in North America, and we produce our own ITP private-label line — components built to the standard we're willing to put our own name on. Everything on our shelf is there because it holds up in the field.
What We Stock at Our Louisiana Branch
Undercarriage Components
Full undercarriage for excavators, dozers, crawler loaders, drills, pipelayers and compact track loaders — from a single roller replacement to a complete both-sides rebuild:
- Track chains — sealed and lubricated (SALT) and greased chains, with or without shoes
- Wide and extra-wide track shoes — LGP and flotation configurations for soft ground, marsh and spoil
- Track shoes and pads — single, double and triple grouser, in standard and heavy-duty gauge
- Track rollers and carrier rollers — bottom and top rollers, single and double flange
- Front idlers and idler groups — including recoil spring and track adjuster assemblies
- Sprockets and sprocket segments — bolt-on segments for machines where a full sprocket change isn't practical
- Seal groups, pins, bushings, bolts and nuts
- Track guides, rock guards and full-length guiding for high-impact and side-slope work
In-House Track Press Work
We run a track press at our Louisiana branch, which means we're not only selling you components — we can do the work that turns them into a finished track:
- Shortening and lengthening chains — adding or removing links to correct pitch, adjust for wear, or adapt a chain to a different machine
- Pad and shoe swaps — pulling worn shoes off a serviceable chain and bolting on new ones, instead of buying a complete chain you don't need
- Building complete track groups — chain, shoes and hardware assembled and ready to install when it arrives
Portable Pin Presses
For fleets that would rather do their own undercarriage work, we sell portable track pin presses. They handle master pin removal and installation, pin and bushing turns, and chain work right in your yard or on the job site — no lowboy, no shipping the machine out. On a pipeline spread or a job an hour into the marsh, that's often the difference between a half-day repair and a week of downtime.
Rubber Tracks
Rubber tracks for mini and midi excavators, compact track loaders, multi-terrain loaders, dumpers and carriers.
- Wide-track and flotation configurations for machines working soft, wet ground
- Tread patterns matched to the application — C-pattern and zig-zag for traction in mud and slope work, block and staggered-block for CTLs on harder or turf-sensitive surfaces
- Non-marking compounds for finished concrete and asphalt work
- Continuous steel cord and embedded steel link construction for machines running high hours in abrasive material
A note specific to this climate: sustained heat and humidity break down rubber compounds faster than in temperate states. Tracks that would go three seasons elsewhere often won't here. Worth planning for rather than being surprised by.
Rubber and Poly Pads
- Bolt-on rubber pads for excavators and dozers working paved sites
- Clip-on and chain-on pads for machines switching between street work and dirt without a full shoe change
- Poly pads for road milling machines and pavers
Ground Engaging Tools (GET)
- Bucket teeth, adapters, pins and retainers
- Cutting edges, end bits and side cutters
- Sidebar protectors and wear bars
- Ripper shanks and protectors
- Grader blades
Louisiana ground is mostly soft, which sounds easy on GET until you factor in what's actually in it. Shell, gravel fill, buried debris, old timber and storm wreckage all show up in material that looks like clay from the cab. We'll help you match tooth style — general purpose versus penetration versus rock — to what you're actually digging.
Built for Louisiana Conditions
Soft Ground, High Water and Low Ground Pressure
A large share of this state is ground that won't hold a standard machine. Saturated clay, organic muck, spoil banks and marsh mean LGP configurations, extra-wide shoes and swamp pads aren't specialty items — they're what moves. We stock wide track shoes and can build track groups spec'd for flotation rather than traction, which is a different calculation than the one most parts counters run by default.
Amphibious and marsh excavators, mat work, and machines operating on timber mats load undercarriage in ways the manufacturer's wear tables never anticipated. Tell us what the machine is sitting on and we'll spec accordingly.
Brackish and Saltwater Corrosion
This is the quiet killer here, and it doesn't appear in any wear chart. Brackish and salt water attack chain joints, seal groups, and pin and bushing seals from the outside in. A chain that would run five thousand hours inland can fail early on the coast for reasons that have nothing to do with material wear. Sealed and lubricated chain earns its cost in this market more than almost anywhere else in the country, and coastal operators should be inspecting seals on a schedule rather than waiting for symptoms.
Levee, Flood Control and Coastal Restoration
Levee construction, floodwall work, pump stations and coastal restoration keep a large population of dozers and excavators moving saturated fill more or less continuously. Slow, heavy, high-hour work — the kind that wears bushings and sprockets steadily rather than dramatically, and rewards planned rebuilds over emergency ones. These are also long-horizon contracts, which means undercarriage planning can actually be done in advance if someone takes the time.
Oil, Gas and Pipeline Right-of-Way
Pipeline construction and maintenance across the state and into the coastal zone runs sidebooms, dozers and excavators through terrain that changes every few hundred feet — firm ground to swamp and back. Extreme travel, constant loading and unloading, and long stretches far from any parts counter. We keep fast-moving wear items stocked because a spread doesn't stop for a backordered idler.
Sugarcane, Rice and Row Crop
Cane in the river parishes is one of the hardest seasonal applications in American agriculture — heavy machines, wet fields, a tight grinding window and no tolerance for downtime. Rice and crawfish ground in the southwest means tracked equipment standing in water for months. Row crops and pine in the north put a large population of skid steers and compact track loaders on wet clay through the spring.
Timber and Land Clearing
North Louisiana pine plantations and land clearing statewide run feller bunchers, skidders, mulchers and CTLs over stumps, roots and cutover. Track guiding, rock guards and full-length guiding earn their cost quickly in this application — a thrown track in the woods is a recovery, not a repair.
Hurricane Recovery and Debris
When a storm comes through, everything happens at once: debris removal, demolition, temporary access, infrastructure repair, all at maximum urgency and all at the same time. Storm debris is the harshest material a bucket tooth or cutting edge will ever see — mixed metal, masonry, timber and whatever else the water moved. We stock GET with that in mind, and we've been through enough of these seasons to know what the demand curve looks like.
Heat, Humidity and Corrosion
Sustained heat and near-constant humidity are hard on rubber compounds, seals and lubricants, and they accelerate general corrosion on anything steel that sits. Machines that sit between jobs in this climate deteriorate in ways machines in dry states don't.

Why Dealerships Buy from ITP
Family-owned since 1956, now in our fourth generation. Seven decades of doing one thing. When your counter has a customer waiting and a part number that doesn't cross, the person you reach here has almost certainly seen it before.
One of the longest-tenured authorized Berco dealers in North America. A relationship that goes back decades, and a name your customers already trust.
Our own ITP private-label line. We spec and cast our own undercarriage components to demanding standards, verify them, and stand behind them. It's a line you can put on your shelf and sell with confidence, and it's our name and reputation on it — which is exactly why we won't put it on anything that doesn't earn it.
Nine U.S. branches and deep inventory. New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Illinois, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Louisiana. Distributed stock means fewer backorders and fewer conversations where you have to tell a customer you don't know when it's coming.
Fitment support that saves your counter time. Send us the machine make, model and serial, or photos of what's worn. Undercarriage is a measurement problem before it's a parts problem, and we'd rather spend the fifteen minutes with you than have you eat a return.
