Anybody who has run a machine on the Gulf Coast knows what gumbo does. Houston's expansive black clay packs into a running gear wet, sets up like concrete when it dries, and hides every bit of wear underneath it. It loads idlers, recoil springs and track adjusters far past what anybody spec'd for, and it's the reason a Houston undercarriage can look serviceable right up until it isn't.
Then there's everything else this market asks of equipment: flat ground with the water table close under it, detention and drainage work that never stops, refinery and plant construction along the Ship Channel, pipeline right-of-way running in every direction, salt air off the bay, and heat that works on rubber and seals twelve months a year.
Our branch sits on Griggs Road in Houston, close to the Ship Channel, the port and the interstate corridors. We stock the undercarriage, rubber tracks, pads and ground engaging tools built for this work. Industrial Tractor Parts has been supplying heavy equipment parts since 1956, and we run nine branches nationwide.
We're an independent aftermarket parts distributor, not a dealership. That means we're not limited to one equipment brand and we're not tied to one price book. We're one of the longest-tenured authorized Berco dealers in North America, and we produce our own ITP private-label line — components built to the standard we're willing to put our own name on.
What We Stock at Our Texas Branch
Undercarriage Components
Full undercarriage for excavators, dozers, crawler loaders, drills, pipelayers, sidebooms and compact track loaders — from a single roller replacement to a complete both-sides rebuild:
- Track chains — sealed and lubricated (SALT) and greased chains, with or without shoes
- Track shoes and pads — single, double and triple grouser, in standard and heavy-duty gauge
- Wide and LGP track shoes for coastal prairie, wet season work and saturated ground
- Track rollers and carrier rollers — bottom and top rollers, single and double flange
- Front idlers and idler groups — including recoil spring and track adjuster assemblies
- Sprockets and sprocket segments — bolt-on segments for machines where a full sprocket change isn't practical
- Seal groups, pins, bushings, bolts and nuts
- Track guides, rock guards and full-length guiding for caliche, rock, land clearing and demolition work
In-House Track Press Work
We run a track press at our Texas branch, which means we're not only selling you components — we can do the work that turns them into a finished track:
- Shortening and lengthening chains — adding or removing links to correct pitch, adjust for wear, or adapt a chain to a different machine
- Pad and shoe swaps — pulling worn shoes off a serviceable chain and bolting on new ones, instead of buying a complete chain you don't need
- Building complete track groups — chain, shoes and hardware assembled and ready to install when it arrives
Portable Pin Presses
For fleets that would rather do their own undercarriage work, we sell portable track pin presses — master pin removal and installation, pin and bushing turns, and chain work in your own yard or out on location. On a pipeline spread or a lease hours from the nearest shop, that's the difference between a half-day repair and a week of downtime.
Rubber Tracks
Rubber tracks for mini and midi excavators, compact track loaders, multi-terrain loaders, dumpers and carriers.
- Non-marking compounds for finished concrete, asphalt, parking structures and residential work
- Tread patterns matched to the application — C-pattern and zig-zag for traction in gumbo and wet ground, block and staggered-block for CTLs on hard surfaces and turf
- Continuous steel cord and embedded steel link construction for machines running high hours on abrasive material
Texas heat and UV degrade rubber compounds continuously, and machines that sit uncovered between jobs age faster than machines that work. Plan replacement on the calendar, not just on tread depth.
Rubber and Poly Pads
- Bolt-on rubber pads for excavators and dozers working paved sites
- Clip-on and chain-on pads for machines switching between road work and dirt without a full shoe change
- Poly pads for road milling machines and pavers
Ground Engaging Tools (GET)
- Bucket teeth, adapters, pins and retainers
- Cutting edges, end bits and side cutters
- Sidebar protectors and wear bars
- Ripper shanks and protectors
- Grader blades
Texas GET wear varies more than almost any state we serve. Gulf Coast clay is a penetration and stickiness problem. Caliche and hardpan west and south of here are genuinely abrasive. Central Texas limestone and Hill Country rock are impact applications. And drought-hardened clay anywhere in the state digs closer to stone than soil. We'll help you match tooth style to what you're actually digging.
Built for Texas and Gulf Coast Conditions
Oil Rigs, Drilling Locations and Energy Work
Houston is the center of the energy industry, and equipment supporting it works some of the hardest duty cycles in the country.
Building and Maintaining Rig Locations
Every drilling rig sits on a pad somebody built. Dozers cut and level the location, excavators dig reserve pits and set flowlines, loaders and blades keep lease roads passable after every rain. These machines run remote sites far from any shop, get loaded and hauled constantly between locations, and work ground that ranges from Gulf Coast gumbo to West Texas caliche. Travel wear alone puts hours on an undercarriage that never show up as digging time.
Crawler-Mounted Drilling and Support Equipment
Track-mounted drills, workover units, sidebooms and pipelayers run undercarriage in an unusual duty cycle — long stationary periods under heavy load, then repositioning across rough ground. That combination is hard on rollers, idlers and track adjusters in ways a normal excavator duty cycle isn't. We stock components for crawler-mounted rigs and support equipment, not just conventional construction machines.
Location Cleanup, Reclamation and P&A Work
Plugging and abandonment, pit closure and site restoration keep equipment working long after the rig moves off, often on ground compacted hard for years.
Across the Eagle Ford, the Permian and the Gulf Coast, the common thread is distance. A machine down on a lease is costing more per hour than the same machine in town, which is why we stock fast-moving wear items rather than ordering them in.
Pipeline, Midstream and LNG
Gulf Coast pipeline density is among the highest in the world, and construction and maintenance run sidebooms, dozers and excavators across right-of-way that changes character every few miles — gumbo, sand, rock, creek and marsh crossings. Add midstream facilities, terminal work and LNG export construction along the coast, and you have sustained demand for heavy machines working on schedules that don't allow a spread to stop for a backordered idler.
Gumbo, Expansive Clay and Flat Wet Ground
The Gulf Coast's black clay is a genuine undercarriage problem and the one Houston operators know best. It packs into running gear wet and bakes solid dry, loading idlers, recoil springs and adjusters, hiding wear, and making inspection harder than it should be. Machines here often look fine and aren't.
The flat terrain and high water table compound it. Water doesn't drain, and equipment works saturated ground for extended periods, which is where wide and LGP shoe configurations earn their cost.
Drainage, Detention and Flood Control
Houston builds more stormwater capacity than almost any metro in the country, and it never stops. Detention pond excavation on every development, bayou widening and channel work, levee and drainage maintenance, and periodic flood recovery. Slow, heavy, high-hour work in saturated clay — the kind that wears bushings and sprockets steadily rather than dramatically, and rewards planned rebuilds over emergency ones.
The Port of Houston and the Ship Channel
One of the largest ports in the country drives terminal construction, dredge support, channel work and bank stabilization along the Ship Channel and Galveston Bay. Add refinery and petrochemical plant construction, turnarounds and industrial site work — heavy equipment in a corrosive, high-security, schedule-driven environment.
Salt Air and Coastal Corrosion
Bay and coastal work — marsh, shoreline, marine construction, beach and terminal jobs — puts machines in salt exposure that attacks chain joints, seal groups and pin and bushing seals independent of material wear. Salt air carries inland, and machines that sit near the coast corrode on their own schedule. Sealed and lubricated chain is worth the premium in this market.
Heat, UV and the Absence of an Off-Season
Texas works twelve months. There's no winter slowdown to create a natural window for measuring and rebuilding undercarriage, which means planning here is a deliberate decision rather than a seasonal habit. Fleets that schedule measurement on a calendar and plan rebuilds into their own contract gaps spend dramatically less than fleets that rebuild in an emergency.
Sustained heat and UV also work continuously on rubber, seals and lubricants — one more thing that runs year-round.
Metro Construction and Highway Work
Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin are among the fastest-growing metros in the country, and the site development, warehouse and distribution buildout, and TxDOT highway work underneath that growth put serious hours on machines fast. Urban and near-urban work also drives non-marking rubber track and bolt-on pad demand for finished surfaces.
Land Clearing, Brush and Ranching
Mesquite, cedar and brush control across central and south Texas keeps mulchers, skid steers and CTLs working stumps, stobs and rock continuously — one of the hardest applications a rubber track will face, and where guarding and heavy sidewall construction pay for themselves.
Ranching statewide generates steady work that never appears in construction statistics: tank and pond building, fence line clearing, road maintenance and brush control.
Aggregate, Caliche and Quarry
Sand and gravel operations along the Brazos, San Jacinto and Trinity, limestone quarrying through central Texas, and caliche pits statewide. High-hour machines, heavy GET consumption, and abrasive material that wears faster than its hardness suggests.
Agriculture
Rice along the coastal prairie, cotton and sorghum across the plains, citrus and vegetables in the Valley, and hay and cattle statewide. Rice ground in particular means tracked equipment in standing water and levee work through narrow seasonal windows.
Hurricanes and Storm Recovery
Gulf Coast storms generate sudden, enormous demand for debris removal, demolition and infrastructure repair, all urgent and all at once. Storm debris is the harshest material a bucket tooth or cutting edge will encounter. We stock GET with those seasons in mind — ordering ahead of one is far cheaper than sourcing during one.

Why Dealerships Buy from ITP
Family-owned since 1956, now in our fourth generation. Seven decades of doing one thing. When your counter has a customer waiting and a part number that doesn't cross, the person you reach here has almost certainly seen it before.
One of the longest-tenured authorized Berco dealers in North America. A relationship that goes back decades, and a name your customers already trust.
Our own ITP private-label line. We spec and cast our own undercarriage components to demanding standards, verify them, and stand behind them. It's a line you can put on your shelf and sell with confidence, and it's our name and reputation on it — which is exactly why we won't put it on anything that doesn't earn it.
Nine U.S. branches and deep inventory. New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Illinois, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida and Louisiana. Distributed stock means fewer backorders and fewer conversations where you have to tell a customer you don't know when it's coming.
Fitment support that saves your counter time. Send us the machine make, model and serial, or photos of what's worn. Undercarriage is a measurement problem before it's a parts problem, and we'd rather spend the fifteen minutes with you than have you eat a return.
